I build a sales and inventory system for a family pharmacy: a Next.js frontend on Vercel and a Django REST API on Render. One day, logging in on an iPhone sent users straight back to the login page with no error. The bug wasn't in either server. It was in the browser.

Most database problems I hit on a Django team had the same cause: the Python looked fine, and the SQL it produced didn't. This post covers two cases, N+1 queries and JSON lookups. Both are solved by the same habit: look at the SQL first.

The "Sign in with Google" button hides two protocols, three secrets, and a signed token your backend must verify before it trusts a single claim. I first met this flow while reviewing the social-login plugin of a production e-commerce backend built on Django (Mugna Internship).
